Yesterday was a little uneventful. I mean, after the Vatican and the Colosseum... You can't really beat that. So I didn't try. Instead I sat and waited in an airport for six hours. That was fun. Let me tell you. The view was beautiful though. As I waited for my plane to Barcelona, out of Italy, you could see all of Rome and the countryside from the window. Simply dashing.
Today was a bit more productive. I saw the Torre Agbar in Barcelona. Which at night is this really cool building that lights up blue. It marks the gateway into the "New Technological District". It's a pretty breathtaking skyscraper.
Now that's a neat word... Get it? Because they scrape the sky? It took me too far too many years to realize that. And I'm slightly ashamed I just published that.
I cannot reiterate enough that when traveling it is so very important to get things ahead of time. I always think I'm giving myself enough time in advance. But no. I'm not. I figured out I needed to get a bus to Santander (my next stop in Spain) and that's the most efficient way from Barcelona. So. The bus is nine hours. Yeah, fun. But my card (which I thought was clear and wouldn't scream FRAUD, even when I had okay-ed it by the bank) sent me a fraud notice. Then my computer wouldn't let me purchase the tickets... So I'll have to go to the station tomorrow. It's a mile walk, and for the walking I've been doing lately that's nothing!
A random stranger gave me a tour in his bag today. I didn't even have to lift a hoof. Also something very exciting, I visited a shop in a big mall with four floors and found a couple of distance relatives. The world really is a very small place.
Tomorrow will be more exciting. I plan on doing something interesting. Very interesting but very scary. I plan on taking a bus, just a random bus somewhere, then figuring out how to get home. I might see some beautiful sites, some crazy people, and make unforgettable memories. But isn't this why I'm doing this whole thing? All my doors are open. And Daire is daring to open them all at once. It's might be a disaster, but out of it might come something amazing.
