Tapas and Footless Pigeons.

I wished today's weather would have been better. It was cloudy with a chance of Tapas. Ha. Ha. Hahahah. No but really, it was cloudy. Today was the last full day to enjoy Barcelona before I go to Santander tomorrow. I'm leaving by bus at 9:45 AM. It's ten hours (I think I mentioned that previously) and I will be bored. I'm hoping to make some memories today before I go, of course though, I will be coming back. I like it here. I feel like I'm finally getting used to being in this country. In all honesty, it took me going to Italy to really appreciate Spain. I can understand and actually comprehend and express what I want/need/like here. In Italy I sound like a mumbling, stumbling idiot choking on my words, wondering if the person I was talking to spoke ANY sort of English to save me from the lack of communication. That doesn't happen here. I can slightly express in valid language and words. It's refreshing. But it took me going to Italy for that to happen. So thank you Italy. Something good came out of your stressful country.

I visited a couple of wonderful places. I went to the beach, a place called El Xampanyet for Tapas (which if you don't already know that's basically finger-food or snacks between big meals, usually before siesta), The Arc de Triomf, and the church of Santa Maria del Mar. All were great and I highly suggest that if you're in Barcelona, you visit. It's worth it. Although there were a ton of crowds around the church because it's a tourist attraction, I suggest eating elsewhere. They like to jack up the prices around those kinds of places. Those rascals.

I have pictures from all of the places I went today, but I think the best two pictures that capture my day are the following two:

The first I am in the Santa Maria del Mar, and the second is of - yes - a footless pigeon. I found this little guy on the boardwalk by the sea. He's footless but he's still truckin'. And bobbing his head along. He looked at my like he wanted to dance. I started to dance and I tried singing to him to dance with me, but as soon as he figured out I didn't have food he hobbled off. Sad day.
